Will’s Computer
Will ordered a new computer. Well, he tried to, but couldn’t get it delivered to Bristol because his credit card isn’t registered here… so I ended up ordering. All was fine, until I offered to build it.
Oh dear oh dear. SATA hard disk drives are great, but a pain for installing Windows. That, and a problem with the bios that mysteriously went away just as I got through to Abit’s technical support.
Still, it’s all working now. FYI. Fress F6 to load additional drivers just as Windows setup starts. Then, note that the list only shows four items, and doesn’t appear to scroll… but it does. The next driver down was what was needed for an Abit AV8 motherboard.

Well….. It nearly works. It does not now for no apparent reason but at least it did for a bit so there is possibly light at the end of the tunnel.
